Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research admissions to the Ph.D. and M.S./Ph.D. are based on GATE/ GPAT or JEST or UGC NET or CSIR NET or ICMR JRF or DBT JRF or INSPIRE JRF followed by an interview.

Will a student get JNCASR scholarship?

Yes. Scholarships will be awarded to accepted students in accordance with CSIR/UGC guidelines. Junior Research Fellows in Science (the first two years of your Ph. D.) currently earn Rs. 25,000/- per month, while Senior Research Fellows in Science (the next three years) earn Rs. 28,000/- per month.It all depends. In theory, a degree can be completed in about two years, but this is extremely rare. It takes about 4 to 5 years on average. A student may take up to six years. Also, keep in mind that a Ph. D. is not the same as any other University degree. By definition, research is the study of the unknown.
